Data Protection (GDPR)

Heelands School aims to ensure that all personal data collected about staff, pupils, parents, governors, visitors and other individuals is collected, stored and processed in accordance with the expected provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018)

This policy applies to all personal data, regardless of whether it is in paper or electronic format.

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), have come into force and all businesses and organisations have to demonstrate compliancy with data protection legislation. As a school, a key part of this new regulation is informing parents about how we gather, use and share the data that we hold.

We have developed new privacy notices and policies that set out this information. These documents inform you about:

  • What information we hold

  • Why we have it and what it is used for

  • Who we share this information with and why

  • How long we keep information for

  • What rights you have

If you have any queries about how we manage your data, please contact either the school office at: office@heelands.org or the Data Protection Officer c/o ICT Service via email: dpo@theictservice.org.uk
