School Procedures
Parent / Carer Responsibilities
We ask that you read the list below - a list that is taken from our Positive Behaviour Policy - to help us to give your child the best possible support in school:
-
Ensure that your child attends school regularly and arrives in good time;
-
Be aware of school rules and procedures, and encourage your child to abide by them;
-
Show interest in your child’s classwork and homework, where possible, provide suitable facilities for studying at home;
-
Act as positive role models for your child in their relationship with the school;
-
Attend planned meetings with teachers and support school functions;
-
Provide the school with all the necessary background information about your child, including telling the school promptly about any concerns you may have about school, or any significant change in your child’s medical needs or home circumstances.
START TIME:
The school day starts at 08:30am where children do morning learning work. Registers are taken at 8:40am and any pupil arriving after this time will have to sign-in at the school office. Children who arrive after 8:40am will be given a late mark and children who arrive after 8:55am will be marked with an unauthorised absence.
As a small school, we only have one member of office staff, Diane Farmer - School Business Manager. If she is called away from her desk, the telephone or door may not be answered immediately. Thank you for your understanding.
COLLECTION TIMES:
Please be reminded that the School day finishes at 3:10pm and children need to be collected promptly.
SCHOOL ABSENCE:
Our school policy requires the parent/carer to contact the school office via phone (01908 316306) or using the school email address: office@heelands.org no later than 8:30am, each day of school absence.
You will be asked the nature of the absence as this information needs to be recorded.
MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS:
For all GP/Dentist appointments please can these be taken before or after the school day or during half-term breaks. This is to minimise disruption to the other children in class and for your child not to miss essential learning.
We hope that you find the information on this website useful. If you do feel that information is missing, please contact the school office.
